Behind every spreadsheet is a story, here’s mine.

Hi, I’m Brandi Jane.
I believe financial literacy should be taught at every college and to every young adult stepping into the real world. After more than a decade in New York’s asset-management industry, including serving as Chief Financial Officer for several investment firms, I created Adulting 101 to fill the gap witnessed firsthand: smart, capable students graduating without the financial literacy tools they need to succeed.
I’m a Certified Public Accountant and Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice in Accounting at Washington and Lee University, I teach courses ranging from accounting to personal finance.
Drawing on my background in both finance and education, I partner with individuals, schools, and organizations to make financial literacy approachable, empowering, and — yes — even fun. I live in Dallas with my husband, Jason, and three daughters, Georgia Kate, Anna Charles, and Jane Carlisle, who remind me daily that the best financial lessons start early.
